Quilt Spree Update, embroidery group this week & NQA

June 20th!
Already!
That means that Summer has arrived.

The Stitching Girls Group here at the shop
are still stitching on the "S" block
from the "Gardener's Alphabet" by Crabapple Hill...

This Friday, June 22nd from 1 - 3 p.m.
is our Stitching Girls group meeting this month.
We may be ready to start tracing and crayoning the "W" block.
The Stitching Girls have decided that they will start with the "seasons" from this pattern -
Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter.  After finishing those four, they'll decide if they want to do the complete alphabet!! :)

The arrival of summer also means that we are finishing up our projects
for the Quilt Spree Shop Hop.
It's not too late to get your "Friends Card" for this year's Spree.
This card entitles you to all participating shop's discounts, the Shop Hop itself in mid-July, AND all the different shop's patterns.
The theme this year is
"Strip Along Friends"
and we're really excited
about our shop's quilt project -
it's a little different for us
(but different in a good way:).
We can barely contain ourselves!!!

Finally, we know Summer has arrived
as The National Quilt Association Show
was in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.
The quilts and the talent were just wonderful!
Here's a sample from the "Winner's Circle":
Red and Green Revisited
by Teri Henderson Tope -
she created this for a quilt guild's
President challenge;
it's an applique design borrowed from a
Civil War top in the Ohio Historical Society.

Happy Stitching Summer, and hope you can visit us soon!
