We would like to put some of all of it into our stash!

My Quilt Spree 2012 is HERE!!!

We had the unveiling all of our
new quilts for Quilt Spree 2012
last night for our Preview Party...
and the excitement continues today!

The theme this year is "Strip Along Friends"
and each of the shops in the Spree
chose and shared 2 1/2" fabric strips of bright colors.
It was definitely "BRIGHT/outside the box" of our comfort zone -
but we think we did an Amish-ly smashing job!

Yes, you know us, we have Projects - plural!!!
So, without further ado...
The "GOOD WIVES GONE WILD":
We have used all of the colors
from each of the shops in the Hop.
So if you want to make this lovely
"GW GONE WILD" quilt,
the pattern is in your Spree Pattern Pack, and
you will need to pick up a strip pack from each of the Spree Shops,
plus our strip pack & finishing kit.  We cut each of the strips in half -
(those are cut 1 1/4 inches wide) and used Marti Michell's 60 degree ruler.
Isn't it just the greatest quilt??!
But wait!
There's still the Good Wives version/colorway....
you know we had to!!!
drum roll....
ESPRESSO YOURSELF:
It's the same Good Wives pattern from your Spree Pattern Pack,
and of course, to save you time,
we have a complete kit put together in all of the "espresso" colors
for the top and binding,
just like we used in our sample!!!

If you don't have your
Quilt Spree Pattern Pack yet,
we still have them available at the shop -
only $15 gets you all of the patterns
from each of the shops in the Spree.

Finally, just a reminder,
all of the Shops in the Spree have the same hours this week:
Wednesday and Thursday
9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hope to see you this week!
Happy Hopping to all the shops in the Spree!!

Quilt Spree Update, embroidery group this week & NQA

June 20th!
Already!
That means that Summer has arrived.

The Stitching Girls Group here at the shop
are still stitching on the "S" block
from the "Gardener's Alphabet" by Crabapple Hill...

This Friday, June 22nd from 1 - 3 p.m.
is our Stitching Girls group meeting this month.
We may be ready to start tracing and crayoning the "W" block.
The Stitching Girls have decided that they will start with the "seasons" from this pattern -
Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter.  After finishing those four, they'll decide if they want to do the complete alphabet!! :)

The arrival of summer also means that we are finishing up our projects
for the Quilt Spree Shop Hop.
It's not too late to get your "Friends Card" for this year's Spree.
This card entitles you to all participating shop's discounts, the Shop Hop itself in mid-July, AND all the different shop's patterns.
The theme this year is
"Strip Along Friends"
and we're really excited
about our shop's quilt project -
it's a little different for us
(but different in a good way:).
We can barely contain ourselves!!!

Finally, we know Summer has arrived
as The National Quilt Association Show
was in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.
The quilts and the talent were just wonderful!
Here's a sample from the "Winner's Circle":
Red and Green Revisited
by Teri Henderson Tope -
she created this for a quilt guild's
President challenge;
it's an applique design borrowed from a
Civil War top in the Ohio Historical Society.

Happy Stitching Summer, and hope you can visit us soon!

Friends and Pot Holders

Friends and Pot Holders...
what a way to start a conversation!

First,
Friends:
Don't forget to
turn in your
Quilt Spree "Friends" May card
by the close of business
this Saturday, June 2nd.
Even if your "Friends" Card
only has one "stamp" on it, turn it in,
as this will make you eligible in the
$50 gas card drawing!

Second,
Pot Holders:
Here at the shop we are working on
finishing up our Pot Holder Quilts.
Most of us have our blocks pieced & quilted,
just working on the last of the bindings
and then to whip-stitch them together...
Even though we are working towards completion on ours,
it's not too late to join in!
Not only is this is a quick and fun project,
these 14 inch blocks are a
great summer/travel take-along project.
You can piece by hand or machine.
Then layer and quilt,
also by hand or machine.
Attach the binding
and then whip stitch them together.
In no time at all, you have a finished quilt!!!

We have kits available
for all 24 blocks of the quilt,
and if you purchase at least four block kits,
you receive 20% off the book:
These blocks are so fun to make
that we may just have to
do a few extra
and give them to our friends!!!

Friends and Pot Holders...
you can never have too many of either!
